Huawei released the Mate 9 in January, while it has been a few months since it came out we still decided to take a look at it. I’d like to think of the Mate 9 as a mash up of the iPhone 7 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. All three phones look similar inside and out and competing in the same phablet market. Huawei is taking aim at the US market with the Mate 9. It hopes to expound upon it world wide brand image. What you get with the Mate 9 is a huge 5.9 inch screen, beefy battery, 4gb of ram, and a brand-new CPU.
Here are some short initial thoughts of the Mate 9:
- Pretty good battery life
- Screen looks surprisingly good for being 1080p
- Plenty of power
- Camera seems to take good pictures
- Software has some weird quarks
- Speakers are average
Overall, I’ve enjoyed my short time with the Mate 9 and I’m looking forward to spending the next few weeks with it. Please check back for more contented related to the Huawei Mate 9.
