The Mida Multi-Tool was a heavy hitting scout rifle from Destiny 1, so it’s big news to fans that it’s in the sequel.

The Destiny 2 Mida Multi-Tool is the same gun that fans remember. It’s an Exotic Scout Rifle with a role that boosts move speed and keeps your radar visible while aiming down sights. The latter is extremely useful.

Unlike the first game, Destiny 2 has you complete a weapon questline before you can unlock the Multi-Tool. It is well worth the work. Read on to learn how to obtain it.

Like all exotic weapon quests, unlocking the Mida Multi-Tool requires a number of specific steps. In brief, they are:

  1. Complete the main story and all EDZ story missions
  2. Get the Mida Mini-Tool from Devrim Kay (EDZ) as a quest reward
  3. With a Scout Rifle, get 50 precision kills and 25 kills without reloading
  4. Dismantle five Blue or Legendary Scout Rifles
  5. Get 50 airborne kills with an SMG

Read below for an in-depth guide:

First off, you need to get the Mida Mini-Tool, which is a Legendary SMG given to you from Devrim Kay. To do this, you need to complete the story and get to level 20, then play through all the bonus EDZ story missions that appear.

Upon finishing “Enhance”, you will then be given the Mida Mini-Tool as a reward from Devrim Kay in the EDZ.
Next, head to the Tower and visit the Gunsmith, who will give you the “Sight, Shoot, Repeat” quest to complete. This has two steps.

Objective 1: Eliminate enemies with 50 precision shots
Objective 2: Eliminate multiple enemies without reloading (25 total)

It is important to remember that the above must be performed with a Scout Rifle. Any will do. This can be done playing any activity.

After finishing the objectives, go back to the gunsmith. He will give you the “Under the Hood” quest step that requires you to dismantle five blue or purple Scout Rifles.

If you are reading this ahead of doing the quest, deposit scout rifles of these type into your Vault so you can complete this step very quickly.
